Are those concrete countertops?
No, Shirestone countertops have the look and feel of natural stone or slate and provide and extremely durable surface.  Since the custom blended countertop mix is poured less than one half inch thick the tops are relatively lightweight when compared to concrete or granite countertops.

Are the tops hard to maintain?
No, Shirestone countertops are seamless, non-porous and resistant to stain.  Any non-abrasive cleaner can be used to keep the tops clean.  The tops are sealed during installation and rarely require additional sealing.

Will heat damage to tops?
Shirestone tops are extremely heat resistant, food safe and ideal for kitchen countertops in both residential and commercial applications.

Can I cut on these tops?
Shirestone tops are extremely durable, but like any surface it's always advisable to use a cutting board.

Are the countertops fabricated and delivered?
Shirestone countertops are poured on-site and fitted to your counter.  The top is seamless, poured in place with a continuous pour.  Since the installation is done on-site there are no transport limitations.

Can these countertops go over an existing surface?
Shirestone countertops can be applied over existing surfaces (such as Formica) making them ideal for remodeling projects.

Are the countertops compatible with all types of sinks?
Shirestone countertops can used with both top-mount and under-mount sinks.

How does the price compare with granite?
Shirestone countertops are about the same price and mid-range granite countertops.

How long does it take to install?
Shirestone countertops can be installed in a 3 to 5 day period.

What colors are available?
Each Shirestone countertop is a custom project.  The color selection is based on customer preference.

Can I install these countertops myself?
Only certified Shirestone installers and dealers are authorized to install Shirestone countertops.
